We meet at Ebenezer Lutheran Church (1127 S. 35th Street, Corner of 35th and Scott). I realize there are probably many quesions that come into your mind when you think about attending a worship gathering, so we've tried to answer a few below. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to email or call!
Where do I park? There is a parking lot behind the church building, just try not to double park another car in. There is also street parking along 35th street, 36th street and also along Scott street. What should I expect when attending your worship gathering? We'll begin by singing 3-4 songs together, have a short 'get to know each other' time at which point the kids 5 and under are dismissed for a bible story & craft time. Then I'll interactively share on a passage from the Bible for 25-35 minutes. We'll close with one more song, and then people are welcome to stay and chow down on some yummy mekato's bakery! Several guys play hoops too after the gathering in the gym.
What's the dress like? Dress is very casual. I (Ryan) wear shorts in the summer and jeans otherwise. God doesn't care about what clothes we wear to a worship gathering, he cares about our hearts. Will I be asked to give money? No. Giving in all senses is an important part of following Christ, not just monetary giving, but we ask that our guests simply enjoy our gathering and feel no obligation to give money during the offering. What about my kids? Younger kiddos up to age 5 are invited to take part in our bible story time which takes place downstairs during the sermon. Kids 5 and up will stay upstairs during the sermon and will have a 'childrens worship bulletin' they'll be able to work on during that time. What are the people like? In a lot of ways, we're probaly pretty similar to you. We have kids, we have jobs, we aren't perfect, we don't have it all together, but together we're learning to love God, each other and our neighbor. |
